Data Machines plans 75 jobs as its Reston headquarters expands
The veteran-founded technology company is investing $849,000 in additional engineering and innovation space.
A Reston technology company's expansion will create room for more engineers working on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and other data-intensive projects.
Data Machines plans an $849,000 investment and 75 new Virginia jobs, according to a September 17 announcement from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership. The project includes a dedicated innovation and engineering office and additional headquarters space.
Founded in 2016, the veteran-founded firm develops data-driven solutions for government and civilian customers. Its work spans cloud infrastructure, software engineering, analytics, cyber defense, and modeling and simulation.
What the announcement means locally
The planned positions represent additional demand for technical talent in Fairfax County. They are a hiring commitment described in the announcement, rather than a verified count of people already hired.
VEDP says it worked with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority on the project. Recruitment and training support will come through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program, a state-funded incentive program for qualifying employers creating jobs.
