Eureka Day brings a sharp comedy about agreement to Blacksburg

A school board that insists on consensus provides the setting for this week's Virginia Tech production of Jonathan Spector's Eureka Day.

The School of Performing Arts is staging the play in Squires Studio Theatre in Blacksburg. Remaining dates listed by the university include September 30, October 1 and October 3; there is no performance listed for October 2.

The story places a community's ideals under pressure when its members can no longer agree on the facts. That makes the production a timely choice for theatergoers interested in the friction between shared values and difficult decisions.
