At Richmond’s Precision Tune, Jimmy and Zach put people first
A free repair for Little Bricks Charity reflects the spirit of service at Jimmy Barefoot and Zach Samples’ Richmond-area Precision Tune shops.
A broken-down van can put a small charity’s work on hold. For Little Bricks Charity, it meant interrupting deliveries of LEGO sets to children in hospitals. Jimmy Barefoot and Zach Samples helped make sure that interruption was short-lived.
The Precision Tune Auto Care operators arranged to have the van towed to their shop, diagnosed the problem and had it repaired at no charge. Their team’s work got the vehicle back on the road—and the charity back to its deliveries.
CBS 6 reported that Barefoot learned about the breakdown through a TikTok appeal from Little Bricks founder Russell Cassava. When Cassava asked how he could repay the help, the answer was to keep delivering the building sets.
It was a generous response to a problem the mechanics were especially well equipped to solve. For the children waiting on those deliveries, a repair in a Richmond-area service bay had a reach well beyond the shop.
Looking after customers—and the people doing the work
Barefoot and Samples operate Precision Tune locations on West Broad Street and Route 1, the road many Richmonders still know as Jefferson Davis Highway. Together, the shops serve drivers on both sides of the James, handling the routine maintenance and unexpected repairs that come with keeping a car on the road.
Their approach leaves room for life outside the service bay, too. Both locations close at 5 p.m. on weekdays and remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays, giving employees evenings and weekends for their families. That schedule reflects a business built around the people who work there as well as those who bring in their cars.

Customers have noticed the welcome they receive. In a four-star review on CARFAX’s Route 1 listing, one customer singled out “The service, professionalism, and courtesy.” Another wrote, “They were friendly and very helpful with assisting us.”
Those comments speak to an important part of automotive care: how people are treated when they need help. The Little Bricks repair showed that same spirit of service in a particularly memorable way.
Two locations for everyday auto care
Both shops offer oil changes, brake service, battery testing and replacement, wheel alignment and engine diagnostics. Their service menus also cover tires, steering and suspension, heating and air conditioning, cooling systems and transmission services for domestic and imported vehicles.
Each location currently advertises a $69.90 full-synthetic oil-change special, covering up to five quarts of specified oil. Additional oil, taxes and shop fees cost extra, and vehicle and filter restrictions apply. Drivers should check the shop’s current coupon when booking.
For Barefoot, Samples and their team, the Little Bricks job was a chance to put their everyday skills to work for a neighbor. They took a stranded charity van and helped turn it back into something useful: a way to bring a little joy to children facing a hospital stay.
