Plan around conditions, not just the calendar
The park’s current notice says boat rentals are not being offered this season. Check its guided paddle programs or call 757-566-3036 before planning to get on the water. Motorboats are permitted on the river; the park lists Croaker Landing as its boat-launch access.
For a shore-based visit, consider the Taskinas Creek Trail or the route to Fossil Beach. The park has no designated swimming area and no overnight accommodation.
