Virginia Tech brings a 4–0 start home after a fourth-quarter escape at Boston College

Virginia Tech returns to Blacksburg unbeaten after turning a difficult fourth quarter into a 21–14 win at Boston College on Saturday. The Hokies are 4–0 for the first time since 2017 and opened ACC play with a victory.
Trailing 14–6, Tech put together an 80-yard drive that ended with Ethan Grunkemeyer finding Marlion Jackson for a touchdown. A successful two-point conversion tied the game.
After a defensive stop, Jeffrey Overton Jr. broke a 76-yard touchdown run. The decisive score came with 4:58 remaining, according to Virginia Tech’s game report.
A short turn toward Friday
John Love’s two field goals had supplied Tech’s earlier points. The defense finished with eight tackles for loss, including two sacks by Cortez Harris and one by Aycen Stevens.
