A mystery venue listing brought a Loudoun wedding planner back to familiar ground

The email did not identify the wedding venue. It told members of a Loudoun County professional networking group that a property was for sale. For wedding planner Macy, it opened an unexpected route toward an ambition she had imagined pursuing much later.

In the account she shares on the 48 Fields website, Macy describes arranging funding before she could sign a nondisclosure agreement and learn which venue was available. When the sale packet arrived, she recognized the place immediately. It was 48 Fields, where she had worked weddings for the previous four years.

Macy and Cory are now the owners of that Leesburg property. They took over from Kelly and Steve, whose work had established the venue’s character. Macy’s aim, as she describes it, is to preserve that character while improving the experience for the couples who celebrate there.

Wedding planning remains part of her working life through Schilling Wedding Planning. Cory works in information technology. The couple describes 48 Fields as both a home and a family business and limits its event calendar so that each gathering receives their attention.

The property hosts barn weddings in Northern Virginia wine country. It also welcomes inquiries for other events, with tours arranged through the venue. For Macy, that means welcoming couples into a place she knew first from the working side of a wedding day.
