A father-and-son trade carries Callison into its next chapter

A custom duct shop is one of the details that distinguishes Callison Electric Heating & Cooling. Alongside equipment installation and service, the Staunton business can make ductwork in-house, bringing another part of a heating and cooling project into the same operation.

Jimmy Callison founded the company in 2003. His son Andrew now owns the business, carrying forward a family enterprise that combines electrical work with heating and air conditioning. Melissa manages the office, connecting the scheduling and customer-service side with the technicians' work in the field.

The combination of trades gives Callison a broad role in a home's essential systems. Its heating and cooling work includes heat pumps, furnaces and air conditioning. Electrical services extend to panels, generators and electric-vehicle chargers.

Those services often meet at the same property. Heating and cooling equipment requires electrical support, while changes to a home can create new demands on existing systems. Having both specialties within the company gives customers one business to contact when discussing the scope of that work.

The duct shop adds a hands-on fabrication element. Ductwork is part of how conditioned air moves through a building, and making components locally brings workshop skills into an operation that also handles service calls and installations.

Callison's family succession gives the company a story beyond its service list. A business started by Jimmy more than two decades ago now continues under Andrew, with the next generation responsible for both the trade and the relationships that keep a local service company running.

The office is at 10 Highland Avenue in Staunton. Homeowners and businesses can contact Callison at 540-294-3189 to discuss electrical, heating or cooling work.
