His father, Andy Smigelski, is the company's founder and chief executive. Andy's work includes commercial and multifamily projects, while Garrett's role carries the business into its next generation.
Kristina supports the operation through scheduling, accounting and fulfillment. Those responsibilities connect the customer-facing and administrative work with the projects being carried out in the field. The family company's structure is visible in that division of roles, rather than in the name alone.
Columbia serves Northern Virginia from Leesburg. Its roofing and home-improvement work encompasses different kinds of buildings, from individual homes to commercial and multifamily properties. Those projects vary in scope, making the assignment of responsibilities within the team a meaningful part of how the company operates.
Garrett's early experience is part of that story. He began watching his father work as early as age eight, then entered the trade after high school. His path connects an early introduction to the family business with responsibility for a defined part of its work today.
