At Culpeper Animal Hospital, careers grow alongside the practice
Shawn Marr began at Culpeper Animal Hospital as a kennel assistant in 2001. She went on to earn two degrees at Virginia Tech and become a licensed veterinary technician. Today, her responsibilities also include nutrition and prescription-food ordering.

Her path is one of several long professional relationships within the Aspen Street practice. Courtney Rosenberger-Hale joined in 2008 and worked through roles in veterinary care and front-office coordination before becoming practice manager. A Culpeper County native, she brings a connection to the surrounding community as well as experience across the hospital's daily operations.
Veterinarian Meredith Vargas arrived near the beginning. She joined in May 2000, shortly after the hospital opened, and became its owner in 2003. A Purdue veterinary graduate, Vargas originally moved to the region for equine work before making the Culpeper area her home. Her professional interests include dentistry, surgery, ultrasound and preventive medicine.
The hospital, now part of Lakefield Veterinary Group, provides care for companion animals through services that include preventive visits, dentistry, surgery and diagnostic work. Its location just outside downtown gives local pet owners a place to establish an ongoing relationship with the team.
That continuity is supported by practical client resources. The practice offers an app, an online pet shop and information for owners between appointments. Its published schedule includes weekday hours and Saturday mornings, with separate resources directing owners seeking emergency care.
Long service alone does not describe everything a veterinary practice does, but the staff's career paths show the range of work behind an appointment. Kennel care, clinical training, inventory, scheduling and management all contribute to how the hospital functions.
For Culpeper pet owners, the team offers both a broad set of veterinary services and colleagues who have spent substantial parts of their careers at the same practice. Prospective clients can contact the hospital to discuss appointments and the needs of their pets.
