Different paths into veterinary care meet at Dublin Animal Hospital
Engineering, emergency medicine and house calls all figure in Dr. Lynda Oleksuk’s route to the Pulaski County practice.
Before becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Lynda Oleksuk earned bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering mechanics at Virginia Tech. Her path eventually brought her to Dublin Animal Hospital, where she joined the team in December 2021 after work in emergency medicine, general practice and a house-call behavior consultation service.
She is part of a veterinary team serving Dublin, Pulaski and the surrounding New River Valley. The hospital dates its local history to 1948, giving its present-day work a connection to decades of care for area pets and their owners.
Dr. Maria Bruck joined the hospital full-time in 2018 after previously providing relief coverage there and at other practices. Dr. Molly McCarthy arrived in June 2023, following studies at Virginia Tech and the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Their different routes into the practice bring several professional backgrounds to the same hospital on Bagging Plant Road.
Dublin Animal Hospital treats dogs and cats as well as exotic pets, including reptiles and small mammals. Services range from preventive visits and dental care to surgery and diagnostic work. Urgent care is offered during business hours, with the office asking owners to call ahead.
Care at the hospital also extends to pets staying while their owners are away. Day and overnight boarding are available, including medical boarding. The preparation starts with details about the individual animal: the boarding form asks about feeding routines, whether food will come from home, medications and supplements, and any health or behavioral concerns the team should know about.
That information connects a pet's usual routine with its time at the hospital. For owners, it provides a place to explain practical needs before drop-off rather than relying on a hurried conversation at the door.
The practice also provides an online appointment request, a refill request and a client app alongside its telephone contact. Pet owners can reach Dublin Animal Hospital at 540-674-4706 or info@dublinvets.com. The hospital is at 5720 Bagging Plant Road in Dublin.
