At Early Mountain, a vineyard wedding comes with a plan for the whole evening
The Madison venue pairs outdoor ceremony settings with indoor gathering spaces, an in-house kitchen and a guest cottage.
The view may draw a couple to Early Mountain Vineyards, but a wedding there also depends on what happens after the ceremony: where guests gather, how dinner is served and where everyone goes if the weather changes.
The Madison vineyard brings those pieces together across its Event Hall, Great Lawn, Terrace, Lounge and Gallery. Its wedding venue accommodates up to 200 guests for both the ceremony and reception, with spaces that allow an evening to move between outdoor and indoor settings.
Food is part of the venue's own operation. Early Mountain requires its in-house catering for weddings, apart from the wedding cake, and identifies executive chef Tim Moore as the contact for developing the menu. The venue fee includes tabletop items such as linens, china, flatware and glassware, bringing several planning decisions under one roof.
The property also has a guest cottage available for the wedding stay. Meetings with a venue manager are scheduled in advance, as are rehearsals, so that the people and spaces needed for planning are available.
Early Mountain's preparations include less picturesque but consequential details. The Event Hall can hold a ceremony and reception in poor weather, and the property has a backup generator. The tasting room can serve as a cocktail-hour setting after its public hours, subject to the venue's timing arrangements.
Those provisions help explain the appeal beyond the scenery. A wedding at Early Mountain is organized around a working vineyard with its own hospitality team, kitchen and indoor alternatives. Couples can begin with the landscape they love and then work through the practical details that make it possible to share that setting with their guests.
