Funkhouser’s Luray office carries a family real estate story into Page County
A Main Street presence connects local buyers and sellers with a firm that has grown across the Shenandoah Valley since 1975.
Funkhouser Real Estate Group began with two associates in downtown Harrisonburg. Its Luray office now gives Page County clients a local doorway into the family firm’s wider Shenandoah Valley network.
Joe Funkhouser entered real estate in 1972 and established the company in 1975. The business grew to include offices in Harrisonburg, Elkton, Luray and Woodstock, bringing several Valley markets into one organization.
A second generation joined in the 1990s. Elizabeth Kistler developed her work in property management and became chief financial officer; Kemper Funkhouser concentrated on residential brokerage and became chief operating officer. Their roles continue the family’s involvement in the firm.
At 12 East Main Street, the Luray office serves people considering homes, land and other property in the surrounding market. The company pairs brokerage services with buyer and seller guides, property searches and regular market reports. Those resources give clients a way to explore possibilities before working through the details with an associate.
For a family-run company whose growth has followed the Valley, the local office remains an important part of the model: regional resources, with a place to begin the conversation close to home.
