Agricultural roots shape Green Works Lawn Care in the Twin Counties
Larry and Diana Clark brought agricultural training to the business they founded in 1998. Today, Green Works Lawn Care continues that family’s work in Galax and the surrounding Twin County area, connecting lawn service with an interest in the practical science of growing turf.

Green Works is a service of Blue Ridge Lawn and Landscape, Inc. Larry earned an associate degree in agricultural technology from Virginia Tech in 1989, and Diana graduated from the university in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and life sciences. Those backgrounds are part of a business serving Galax, Carroll, Grayson and Wythe counties.
Larry leads operations and works as the lead lawn technician. The company offers lawn applications and maintenance, with services extending to mowing and golf-course care. It describes continued education through the Virginia Turfgrass Council as part of staying current with lawn-care methods.
The family connection has continued into the next generation. Kate Vaughan, the Clarks’ eldest daughter, took on the office-manager role in fall 2021 and also directs social media and marketing. Before college, she worked on the landscape crew, giving her experience with the field side of the business as well as its daily coordination.
Beth Clark manages mowing and assists with golf-course maintenance. The lawn-care program includes soil testing, core aeration and applications selected for the property. Customers receive an updated plan before the season, and can request a text after an application—small communication details that help connect the office’s schedule with the work outside.
The Clarks’ ties to the area also include volunteer work with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and involvement in coaching and ministry. Those activities are part of a family story rooted in the same communities the business serves.
