Two mountain settings, one family story at House Mountain Inn
Near Lexington, House Mountain Inn and Irvine Estate combine ceremony spaces, dining and overnight accommodations on the same property.
A wood-burning fireplace, a two-story great room and a mountain view give House Mountain Inn its character. Higher on the property, Irvine Estate offers another setting: a large event space at roughly 2,300 feet in elevation, looking out across the surrounding landscape.
Together, the two venues form a wedding and lodging destination near Lexington. They sit within a 1,000-acre property where, according to the business's history, the Irvine family has gathered for celebrations across five generations.
The inn and estate offer different scales for a wedding. The log inn has a post-and-beam ballroom, outdoor gathering space and room for 160 seated guests, with ten suites for overnight stays. Irvine Estate has a 6,000-square-foot event space, capacity for more than 250 guests and five guest rooms. Final arrangements depend on the event and the spaces reserved.
Bringing lodging, dining and event spaces together is a central part of the operation. Couples can arrange rehearsal dinners, ceremonies and receptions on the property, while overnight guests have access to the inn's accommodations and amenities. Event planners Jamie Grue and Carrie Irvine are the named contacts for discussing celebrations.
The setting also works beyond the wedding day. House Mountain Inn offers hiking trails, stocked fishing ponds and meeting rooms. Its lodging experience includes breakfast and an evening dining program, with advance dinner reservations required. Those details give guests reasons to spend time on the mountain rather than simply arrive for a ceremony and leave after the reception.
The contrast between the two venues is part of their appeal. One centers on the warmth and scale of a log inn; the other offers a larger elevated gathering space. Both belong to the same property and the same family story, giving couples a choice of atmosphere while keeping the celebration close together.
