From neighborhood lawn work to landscape design: Litton’s Wytheville story
The company’s growth connects practical maintenance experience with formal landscape training and outdoor construction.
Litton Landscapes began in the spring of 1993 with lawn mowing and snow removal for neighbors. As more customers asked for ongoing care, the work grew into a business with larger equipment, commercial accounts and a broader range of projects.
The company became an LLC in 2001. Brad continued developing the business while attending college and earned a bachelor’s degree in landscape contracting from Virginia Tech in 2006, according to the company’s history.
That combination of field experience and design training helps explain the range of work the Wytheville business offers today. Projects can encompass layout, plants and hardscape features as well as irrigation, lighting, final grading, sod and erosion control.
The hardscape side includes pavers and wall systems, allowing the built parts of a landscape to work alongside its planting. Walkways, edges and walls give an outdoor space structure; maintenance keeps that structure and the surrounding landscape useful over time.
Litton also works with property owners, managers, builders and developers on scheduling and project coordination. Those relationships connect a landscape plan with the sequence of work needed to install it.
The company’s history is one of expansion from recurring neighborhood jobs into more involved outdoor projects. Its continuing services retain both sides of that story: designing and installing a landscape, then helping care for it.
