A longstanding medical partnership finds a new home at Radiant Medical Spa
Before opening Radiant Medical Spa in South Boston, Dr. Babita Patel and nurse practitioner Melissa Arthur had already spent years working together. Their collaboration began in 2007, giving the business a foundation that predates its treatment rooms on North Main Street.
Before opening Radiant Medical Spa in South Boston, Dr. Babita Patel and nurse practitioner Melissa Arthur had already spent years working together. Their collaboration began in 2007, giving the business a foundation that predates its treatment rooms on North Main Street.
The two began expanding into aesthetics in 2018 and founded Radiant in 2020. It was a new direction for an established professional partnership: Patel brought a background in internal medicine and infectious-disease care, while Arthur brought years of nursing and family-practice experience in the community.
Arthur became a registered nurse in 1993 and has worked in South Boston since 2001, according to the practice’s account of her career. Those local ties help explain the business’s character. Radiant is a locally owned practice built by people who were serving the area long before its doors opened.
The menu spans facials, chemical peels, microneedling, Aerolase laser treatments and aesthetic injectables. Hydrafacial services and professional skincare products provide additional options for people interested in establishing or revisiting a skincare routine. A salt room and infrared sauna broaden the appointment choices beyond facial treatments.
A consultation is the starting point for sorting through that variety. Radiant offers complimentary consultations, allowing prospective clients to discuss their goals and ask what an appointment would involve. The important conversation is individual: which service is appropriate, what it requires and what someone should realistically expect.
The practice also gives clients several ways to make that first contact. Appointments can be requested online or by calling or texting the office. Its published weekday hours run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the spa located at 1129 North Main Street.
For South Boston, Radiant’s story is one of an existing medical partnership investing in a new local business. Patel and Arthur have brought their complementary backgrounds into a practice where clients can explore aesthetic services close to home, with the people behind the business clearly identified from the outset.
