Westover Christian Academy connects early learning and high school on one Danville campus
On Riverside Drive in Danville, preschoolers and graduating seniors attend the same school.
The first school years and the final walk to graduation share a campus at Westover Christian Academy in Danville. Its preschool-through-high-school setting brings different stages of education together on Riverside Drive, with classroom study, weekly chapel and opportunities in the arts forming part of school life.
That range developed from a much smaller beginning. The school opened as Southall Christian School in 1977 with 25 students in kindergarten through fourth grade. It added grades over time and graduated its first senior class of six students in 1986. In 1994, it took the Westover Christian Academy name and moved to Riverside Drive.
For families entering at the preschool level, the school offers several attendance patterns. Its K2 and K3 programs list two-, three- and five-day options, with full- and half-day schedules. K4 operates five days a week, also with full- and half-day choices. Those options give parents specific arrangements to discuss when considering enrollment.
Inside the preschool classrooms, the curriculum includes phonics, language and math concepts alongside motor skills and social development. Small-group activities, music, art, dramatic play and hands-on projects provide different ways to engage with those subjects. Field trips are also part of the program described by the school.
