Runners have until Sunday, November 8, to register at the $30 rate for the Friends of Occoneechee’s November 14 Turkey Trot. Late 5K registration runs November 9–12 at $45. The separate one-mile children’s event is listed at $10.

The course follows paved park roads through rolling woods with views of the lake near Clarksville. The organizers welcome strollers and leashed, well-behaved dogs. The state park lists a 10 a.m. start and a program window ending at 12:30 p.m.

Parking normally costs $7. Participants can have that fee waived by bringing four canned food items. Race-day registration is listed as cash only, and proceeds support park projects.
